telinit command: Changes the system operation level and switches the operation level of the currently running system.
telinit Command Function Description
Use the telinit command to change the runlevel of the Linux system. The runlevel can be a number between 0 and 6, where 0 is to shut down the system, 1 is to enter single-user mode, 2 to 5 is the multi-user runlevel, and 6 is to reboot the system. s or S indicates single-user mode.
