halt command Function Description
Use the halt command to shut down the system.
halt command Syntax
halt [Option]
Option Meaning
The meaning of each option in the command is shown below.
Option | Description |
---|---|
-w | It doesn’t really shut down the system, it just writes to the /var/log/wtmp file |
-n | No synchronization before shutting down the system |
-d | Shut down the system without writing records to the /var/log/wtmp log file |
-f | Force system shutdown without calling shutdown |
-i | Turn off all network interfaces before shutting down the system |
